Orléans complains: match lost on green carpet for Nîmes Olympique ?

Nîmes Olympique won in Orléans (1-0), Friday April 19, and relaunched itself in the race to remain in the National. Except that this victory could be called into question… the Loiret club lodged a complaint against the participation of Zakary Lamgahez…

Promoted by new coach Adil Hermach as first team starter, Zakary Lamgahez, usual central defender of the reserve, was the unfortunate hero of the defeat against Versailles on April 12 (0- 1). After a superb performance, he was guilty of a bad pass in his area, which precipitated Baaloudj's goal at the end of the game.

Zakary Lamgahez at the heart of the affair

Despite himself, he once again finds himself at the heart of the news at Nîmes Olympique. Once again lined up in the starting lineup in Orléans, Friday April 19, he contributed to Gard's victory in Loiret, without conceding a goal (1-0). Except that the Orléans club has filed a complaint against him, which it has the right to do within 48 hours following the match (and therefore not necessarily on D-day).

The reason for the appeal: Zakary Lamgahez could not play in National with NO because he is under an amateur contract, and he was a professional trainee last season at Montpellier Hérault. A player under an amateur contract can play in National, if he has not been a pro before (or a pro trainee, therefore).

Like Benaïssa with Villefranche

This "affair" joins that of Fahem Benaïssa, the defender of Villefranche, under amateur contract with the Rhone club while he had been a professional trainee in Reims in 2022. At the start of the season, Avranches had raised the hare, and Villefranche, for a time threatened with a withdrawal of 10 points, was finally sentenced to replay three matches by the FFF's higher appeals committee. Because the authorities had approved his contract and validated his qualification.

This would be the same case for Nîmes Olympique. "The authorities validated the contract and found nothing to complain about, < /em>explains a leader of the crocodile club, who pleads good faith. This is a new tile for us…"

Four points less in the ranking ?

The Gard club learned the news this Tuesday April 23 at the end of the afternoon, by an email from the French Football Federation. Following Villefranche case law, the match in Orléans could be replayed. Except that… there is a catch, here again: a regulation point indicates that a match from the last five days cannot be replayed. NO would therefore risk losing the 3 points of its victory, and possibly one more because of the infraction…
