A premium partner of the Paris Olympics, it played a key role in positioning companies in the region in calls for tender. 108 of them were chosen in Occitanie by Paris-2024.

Being at the heart of the Olympic adventure. Normal for a premium partner like the Banque Populaire du Sud, which is also the official sponsor of the Olympic Torch Relay with the entire PBCE group which includes the Caisse d'Epargne. In the premises of the Languedoc headquarters in Saint-jean-de-Védas, all the teams are mobilized to irrigate the agencies with this magical passion.

"Being a premium partner is good but we made the decision to bring it to life, in particular by serving as a link between the organizers of the Olympic Games and the companies in Occitanie and the South-East likely to respond to the calls for tenders launched for the games", explains Gabriel Urena, responsible for the corporate market. The ESS-2024 platform was created for this purpose.

Remain a "reference partner"

"We are a leading partner bank in sports economics. We wanted these companies to learn about this opportunity from us, supports Sacha Le Drezen, Director of Specialized Financing. 143 calls for tenders were won in Occitanie by 108 companies, including 43 in former Languedoc-Roussillon".< /p>

Among them, the Hérault company Néreus (Le Pouget), responsible for creating oases of freshness and filtering part of the wastewater from the Olympic village. Based in Nîmes, Espace Enseigne created all the signage for the nautical stadium for the sailing events in Marseille.

The bank also supports hotels in cities labeled "Terres de jeux" about the specifications for welcoming athletes in preparation.

"Sport carries emotion, we have a lot of resonance among employees"

She did not forget the athletes with dedicated loan offers and set up her "team" 2024 composed of 11 Olympic hopefuls including one Paralympic.

Beyond a status and a position to consolidate, the company also intends   "develop things around well-being internally to experience the games on the positive side, as explained by Sébastien Mellado, Director of Communications. Sport carries emotion, we have a lot of resonance among employees. Many managements request athletes for their meetings. We also seek to develop healthy sports, encourage employees who do not do it, support them in soft mobility…"

The relay, a meeting to bring to life

Last summer, the Olympics organized at Grau-du-roi allowed 200 company employees to discover certain Olympic sports in "cohesion" .

The bank intends to raise this public health issue with the meetings that mark the year. Starting with the Torch Relay in mid-May. Collaborators and partners will carry the torch on the theme of knowledge transmission and organized events.

The Paralympic world is not forgotten. "We are going to launch in March with our foundation, a call for inclusion and sport projects to support associations whose projects require a helping hand", concludes Sébastien Mellado.
