Le perchiste Armand Duplantis va défier le champion du 400 m haies Karsten Warholm, sur le 100 m lors du meeting de Zuriche, le 4 septembre prochain.

An unexpected challenge. Olympic champion and world record holder Armand Duplantis will face, on Wednesday, September 4, Karsten Warholm, record holder of the 400m hurdles, in the 100m.

Armand Duplantis recently broke his world record at the Paris Olympics by clearing a bar at 6.24m. While Karsten Warholm won the silver medal (47.06) in his discipline behind the American Rai Benjamin (46’46).

The race will take place at the Zurich meeting. Both Scandinavian athletes have a very good level in the 100m. The Swedish pole vaulter has a record of 10’57 while Karsten Warholm has a time of 10’49. Two very close times.

"We're not the kind of guys to back out"

"I really hope it happens, but at the right time. We're not the kind of guys to back down from a challenge like this. I have more to lose than Mondo in this story, let's be honest!", the Norwegian had declared a few years ago.

Tickets to attend the race go on sale from this Wednesday, August 14.
