Paris 2024 Olympic Games: French volleyball players know their opponents at the Games, they avoid Italy, reigning world champion

The Blues were rather spared by the draw made this Wednesday.

The French volleyball team, defending champion, will face Slovenia, Canada and Serbia in the pools of the Olympic tournament in Paris, a rather lenient draw carried out on Wednesday. France, placed in hat 1 and pool A as the organizing country, thus avoids Italy, the reigning world champion, as an opponent for hat 2, to inherit Slovenia, nevertheless third in the current world ranking.

Pool A: France, Slovenia, Canada, Serbia

Pool B: Poland, Italy, Brazil, Egypt

Pool C : Japan, &United States, Argentina, Germany

In hat 3, Canada seems a more affordable opponent than Brazil, who will face the Italians and Poles in group B. The first two in each of the three groups and the two best thirds are qualified for the quarter-finals. The men's Olympic volleyball tournament takes place from July 27 to August 10.
