Paris 2024 Olympic Games: it arrives in France this Wednesday, where and when to see the Olympic flame near you in the coming days ?

Event this Wednesday, May 8: the Olympic flame arrives in France in Marseille. Find out when she arrives in the Occitanie region and what route she will follow throughout the country.

Flame on the horizon! Aboard the Belem, the iconic French three-masted ship, the Olympic flame arrives in France this Wednesday, May 8, in Marseille. A strong event 79 days before the big start of the Paris 2024 adventure (July 26 & August 11).

With the notable exception of central France, almost all of France will be crossed. From Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12 May, the flame will remain in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

Arrival of the flame in Occitanie on May 13

Then it’s the turn of the Occitanie region to have its moments of celebration. Starting with Aveyron and Hérault on Monday 13& ;nbsp;May where Millau, Sète and Montpellier will open the ball in the region.

The Pyrénées-Orientales are next on the list on Wednesday May 15, after a short detour to Corsica on May 14.

The passage of the flame in Occitanie

Monday May 13 – Hérault and Aveyron: Millau, Montpellier, Sète. Wednesday May 15 – Pyrénées-Orientales: Pic du Canigou, Font Romeu, Céret, Collioure, Perpignan . Thursday May 16 – Aude: Carcassonne, Narbonne, Castelnaudary, Limoux, Gruissan, Peyrepertuse, Quéribus. Friday May 17 – Haute-Garonne: Revel, Villemur-sur-Tarn, Muret, Rieux- Volvestre, Colomiers, Bagnères-de-Luchon, Toulouse. Saturday May 18 – Gers: L’Isle-Jourdain, Mirande, Fleurance, Marciac, Condom, Nogaro and Auch. Sunday May 19 – Hautes-Pyrénées – Lourdes, Lac de l’Arrêt-Darré, Bagnères-de-Bigorre, Lannemezan, Gavarnie cirque, Tarbes.

64 territories, 10,000 carriers

In total, 64 territories, including five ultra-marine territories, are affected by the passage of the Olympic flame. Athletes, personalities, entrepreneurs, volunteers, employees… In total, 10,000 scouts will take over, 200 meters each, or four minutes.

Many activities are obviously on the program. The security system used is exceptional. This Wednesday, in Marseille, no less than 6,000 members of the police are mobilized to welcome the flame.

The journey will end on the evening of July 26, probably at the top of the Eiffel Tower, during the opening ceremony. Before the big show begins.
