Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) a lancé mardi l’application de transports en commun censée aiguiller et répartir les spectateurs des Jeux olympiques et paralympiques de Paris afin d’optimiser les encombrements de lignes.
This application "Public transport Paris 2024" must guide spectators and visitors during the Olympic Games, to the Olympic sites and in their travels in the Paris region, by recommending itineraries that are not necessarily the shortest, perhaps including more walking, but avoiding crowds in the lines and the stations closest to the sites.
They can plan their trips as soon as they download, specifying which site they plan to go to and on what date. The user will receive a notification the day before the event to plan their journey and "on the day, they will be notified in the event of disruptions on their journey, in order to ;rsquo;adapt accordingly", indicates IDFM in a press release.
Taking disturbances into account
"Public transport Paris 2024" will also have the mission of "distributing spectators and public transport users as best as possible according to the solutions for serving the Olympic and Paralympic sites".
Users will be offered "the most suitable route to get to the competition sites, a route which takes into account the current disruptions and the&rsquo ;crowd in real time. It will therefore not necessarily be the shortest or fastest route that will be offered, but the one most suitable depending on the station or station of departure, with a balanced distribution between the lines and sections, in order to avoid the flow of travelers", specifies IDFM.
Possibility to buy the "Passe Paris"
A "wheelchair traveler" allows you to display only suitable routes (and therefore avoid the metro in general).
By mid-June, the application should also allow you to purchase transport tickets, in particular the Passe Paris 2024 package (16 euros per day) which gives access to all public transport in the Ile-de-France region. The application is translated into English, as well as Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and German by software.
