The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games should take place in “calm” weather. with seasonal temperatures, but under the clouds, anticipates this Monday July 22 the Weather Channel, evoking "a little uncertainty" on possible showers but ruling out any risk of storms.

Friday, “it won't be a big blue sky, but it will probably be rain-free and with fairly calm weather”, Cyrille Duchesne, head of the forecasting department at Meteo Consult/La Chaîne Météo, summed up Monday to AFP.

All week, France will remain on the edge of an anticyclone located around Spain, but a depression located over the British Isles could come and play spoilsport.

On Friday, the day when the show on the Seine will take place to mark the official start of the Olympic Games, a disturbed front should cause some rain in Brittany and Hauts de France in the morning. It is for the future that there exists “a little uncertainty”, according to Mr. Duchesne.

But even if "the clouds should dominate, the temperatures will be seasonal and ideal for the ceremony", oscillating between 25 degrees at the start of the evening and 22 degrees for the end of the festivities, indicates Mr. Duchesne.

And above all, there will be "very little wind" and "no risk of thunderstorms expected", which bodes well for the ;#39;organization of the evening.

As for Météo-France, the national forecaster's website indicated on Monday afternoon for Paris the risk of showers for the afternoon and evening of July 26 and weather "very cloudy" for the night, with a confidence index of 4/5. Temperatures oscillate between 26 degrees (afternoon) and 20 degrees (at night).
