Quelque 17,1 millions de téléspectateurs en moyenne ont regardé la cérémonie de clôture des Jeux olympiques de Paris 2024, dimanche soir sur France 2, selon les chiffres de Médiamétrie publiés lundi.

The opening ceremony, on July 26, was watched live by an average of 23.2 million viewers, then replayed by an additional 1.2 million people, for a historic total of 24.4 million.

A billion views on social media

The live audience record for French television is held by the World Cup final won by Argentina against France in December 2022, which attracted 24.08 million viewers on TF1.

Broadcast by the public group France Télévisions in free-to-air and by the pay channel Eurosports, the Paris Olympic Games attracted massive audiences for two weeks.

In addition to traditional TV audiences, France Télévisions announced on Friday that more than a billion videos of the Olympic Games had been viewed on all of its social networks since the start of the competition.
