Since August 12, the city of Nîmes has been hosting the Philippine delegation as part of its preparation for the Paralympic Games.

The Philippines, an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands, with lush nature and… Its Paralympic athletes. Around fifteen of them have left Southeast Asia to join France with the aim of showing their colors in Paris. When the natives of "the pearl of the Orient seas&quot leave their lands, it is perhaps quite natural that they move closer to another, in this case the Mediterranean, to prepare for the games.

The same success as Mexico ?

The delegation, made up of six athletes, is therefore taking advantage of the facilities in Nîmes to train, without forgetting to visit the ancient city, equipped with a road book provided by the city. “It's a joy to have welcomed them! Rejoices Nicolas Rainville, deputy for sports in the city of Nîmes. We had received the Mexican archery delegation for the Olympic Games and we brought them luck (bronze medal in the mixed team), we hope the same success for the Philippines". 

See you on August 28 in Paris

Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom will compete in swimming, Jerrold Mangliwan and Cendy Asusano in athletics, Allain Keanu Ganapin in taekwondo and Agustina Bantiloc in archery. The athletes benefit from flexible schedules at the Assomption shooting range, the Marcel-Rouvière complex, the Nemausa and Iris swimming pools and the Costières combat area. The delegation will leave Nîmes on August 21 and will give their all in Paris, for the Games that will take place from August 28 to September 8. In any case, Nicolas Rainville affirms: “they will have been put in the best conditions.“
