La para athlète française Aurélie Aubert a obtenu lundi la médaille d'or de Boccia BC1, la première médaille française de l'histoire dans la discipline, en s'imposant en finale face à son adversaire singapourienne.
Despite a third round won by Jeralyn Tan Yee Ting, Aurélie Aubert was able to manage her entire final and won with a score of 5 to 4.
This success obtained in Boccia represents the first international title of the career of this 27-year-old athlete, who finished in 4th place at the European Championships in Rotterdam in 2023, in this same category intended for people with cerebral palsy and similar disorders, resulting in severe impairment of all four limbs.
Before the team events…
The particularity of Category C1 is the possibility of benefiting from an assistant allowing the stabilisation of the wheelchair, as is notably the case of Aurélie Aubert.
