The opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games brought together an average of nearly 10.2 million people on Wednesday in front of France 2, according to figures from the audience measurement company Médiamétrie on Thursday.

This performance, which allows the public channel to dominate its competitors with an audience share of 52.3% from 8 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., does not reach the heights of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 26.

The latter, on a Friday evening, was followed live by an average of 23.2 million viewers, then replayed in replay by 1.2 million people, for a historic total of 24.4 million.

The live audience record for French television is held by the World Cup final won by Argentina against France in December 2022, which attracted 24.08 million viewers on TF1.
