Parrain’Oc, renewed at the Taf show in Nîmes, allows job seekers to be supported by employers

Au parc des expositions, France Travail (ex-Pôle emploi) a profité mardi 19 mars du salon Travail avenir formation de Nîmes pour renouveler le dispositif Parrain’Oc avec la Région Occitanie.

The Taf (Work future training) exhibition in Nîmes, organized this Tuesday March 19 at the exhibition center, brings together 136 companies and 1,200 positions to be filled, including 50% permanent contracts, percentage up compared to 2023.

Numerous job offers have been proposed in the areas of personal service, care assistants, and health (Nîmes University Hospital, Bastide, etc. .). The security, trade, nuclear and training organizations sectors were keen to showcase their know-how and willingness to recruit.

But the Taf show also served as a setting, this Tuesday morning, for the renewal of the Parrain’Oc system which allows people far from employment through no fault of their own; have a network, be supported, accompanied by a business manager, an employer, for a maximum of six months.

530 sponsorships in 2023

A desire of the Occitanie Region which is experiencing some success since last year 530 sponsorships were signed. At the France Travail des 7 Collines agency in Nîmes, management noted that more than half of the sponsored people found a job thanks to this system.

Director of the 7 Collines agency, William Galtier recalls the interest of Parrain’Oc :"It’is intended for job seekers who have at least 12 months of unemployment. Some have lost confidence. We try to find them alternative solutions, to be sponsored to be in contact with an employer, to give advice, tools for a return to employment. And then, above all, they have a foot in the company."

The employment contracts were signed this Tuesday with three France Travail agencies (Nîmes 7 Collines, Saint-Césaire and Courbessac) and numerous employers (transport Bert, Maroquinerie du Sud , Serpe, Caf du Gard, Purple Campus de Marguerittes,  etc.).

Representative of the Petits-fils company, specializing in personal service, Élodie was able to meet her "goddaughter" Evelyne, this Tuesday, at the Taf salon. There will be other contacts, once a month, "for coaching, help with writing a CV , for network maintenance.

Evelyne, "arrested because unfit for work, I could not lift people", sees an advantage in Godfather& rsquo;Oc : "What matters to me is the accompaniment. For their part, Ghislain and Hassan believe in the system "to improve the CV, do the right thing during a job interview ;rsquo;hiring." This year, in Occitanie, the objective of signing more than five hundred sponsorships should be achieved again and Gard will contribute to this strongly.
