“People stole, there was blood on the ceiling”: flight LA800 aboard a Boeing turns into a nightmare, passengers say

Lundi 11 mars, au moins 50 personnes ont été blessées en Australie lors d'un vol Latam Airlines reliant Sydney à Auckland. Radio RNZ a rapporté plusieurs témoignages. Un passage parle d'une situation digne de "L'Exorciste".

On Monday March 11, at least 50 people were injured in Australia during a Latam Airlines flight from Sydney to Auckland after a "technical problem" on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Twelve people had to be hospitalized, including one in serious condition.

According to BFMTV, the “technical problem” mentioned by the spokesperson for the South American company generated an “air hole” so violent that all the passengers who had not fastened their seat belts were propelled to the ceiling.

Several passengers testified to Radio RNZ. Selected Songs: "There was blood on the ceiling, people flew and broke the ceiling of the plane" ; "I thought I was dreaming. I opened my eyes and he (an unrestrained passenger) was on the roof of the plane, on his back, looking down on me. It was like in The Exorcist; "People were flying everywhere, it’was really scary".

The plane fell suddenly

According to our colleagues, the incident only lasted a few seconds: the plane fell suddenly, without any warning. there was no particular prior turbulence which could have alerted the crew.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was finally able to land safely at Auckland Airport around 4:30 p.m. as planned. The American aircraft manufacturer has been faced with a series of problems with its aircraft in recent months.
