Pink October continues in Sète with a series of events organized this weekend

Several associations will be present on Saturday morning in front of the town hall to offer activities and talk about their missions.

Pink October, breast cancer screening awareness month, continues in Sète with a whole series of events organized this weekend. Thus, on Saturday October 19, the town hall square will be occupied, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., by several stands, including that of the Thau oncological support care association (Assos) which will offer a free sophrology and shiatsu session. Comfort cushions made by volunteers from the social center and intended to relieve women affected by breast cancer will also be given to her.

For its part, the CCAS will offer a participatory floral workshop, the Étincelle Occitanie association will talk about health sports and Coactis Santé will talk about its mission, namely to promote access to health for all. The city's sports department will also present adapted sports and pink soaps ordered from the League against cancer will be distributed.

Football tournament and photo exhibition

At the same time, a photography exhibition, entitled When October meets November, will be on display in the town hall lobby and outside. Proposed by Moissons du cœur and the artistic union of French railway workers, it features portraits of women and men, mostly from Sète, taken by Gérard Corporon, who are fighting against the disease. Photos that could be grouped together in a calendar later. The Agora Club is also organizing a sale of bags of pink sweets on the forecourt of Les Halles to benefit the Entre nous association, which works with women and men suffering from cancer.

Sunday October 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Joseph-Ujlaki stadium, the Racing Dockers Port de Sète football club is organizing a 100% women's tournament with eight teams of twelve girls. Sète footballer Dona Scannapieco, an OM player who has played for FC Nantes and MHSC, will be the sponsor of this tournament. An event for the benefit of the Entre nous association, which will be there to provide prevention to young players.
