PODCAST. Liberated Languedoc: Shorn women, the other side of the Liberation

"My early childhood was destroyed” regrets Hélène Chaubin who lived through the German occupation of Paris. It is therefore natural that she should focus on this period. In 2015, she published L’Hérault dans la guerre : 1939-45. Pierre Maraval, a lawyer from Béziers, became interested in justice during the Liberation as part of his thesis.

With their expertise, they dissect the system that has allowed women to be shaved with impunity.

In this episode, the two guests give themselves the mission of shedding light on this phenomenon of women with shaved heads. A necessary spotlight according to Hélène Chaubin because “contrary to what many people believe, this story is not done, I do not think it will be easily”.
