Suicide of a nurse: an open investigation

#BEZIERS A 49-year-old nurse who worked night shifts in the hematology department of the Béziers hospital center, allegedly committed suicide at her home on Monday, June 3, leaving her loved ones a posthumous letter in which she blames the hospital , citing unbearable working conditions and moral harassment. A police investigation into the circumstances of the death has also been opened. But it is difficult, at present, to collect testimonies or a reaction from the unions. No one wants to communicate officially about this terrible tragedy. On the other hand, anonymous calls, emails and letters also evoke "harassment" and "lack of listening" on the part of management and doctors. The nurses in this department are said to be on sick leave, in solidarity with their missing colleague. An extraordinary meeting on working conditions will be held this Monday, June 17 at the hospital.

Today’s figure: 120

#HERAULT They came from their flat country to scrutinize the reliefs of the heart of Hérault. For four weeks, 120 geoscience students from the University of Utrecht, in the Netherlands, have set down their suitcases at Affenage, at Pouget and their measuring devices in the depths of the Hérault landscapes. Witnesses to the geological diversity of the territory, the terraces of the Lergue, the ruffes of the Salagou, the basalts of the Croix de Gibret, in Bosc, or the Neck de Roques, in Salasc, are at the heart of the attentions of these specialists in earth sciences and their eight professors.

On the job for just six weeks!
