Prisca Thevenot “in the middle of a crisis” ? New series of resignations within the cabinet of the government spokesperson

Trois proches collaborateurs de la ministre ont claqué la porte ce vendredi. Cela porte à sept, le nombre de départs dans son entourage en moins d'un mois. Selon Libération, le comportement de Mme Thevenot pourrait être la cause de ces démissions.

The Official Journal of this Saturday, April 27 confirms the information from our colleagues at Libération: three collaborators of the government spokesperson, Prisca Thevenot, presented their resignations the day before, Friday, April 26.

The special advisor – in office since the end of February -, the parliamentary advisor and an argument advisor are officially no longer part of the minister's office. A wave of departures that calls attention to… because it's not the first.

Libération recalls that at the beginning of April, Ms. Thevenot had already lost her advisor “speech", implicated for her "attraction" for the ideas of far-right essayist Alain Soral, according to a Mediapart investigation. Above all, ten days later, his three main collaborators, that is to say his chief of staff, the deputy director and as well as the chief of staff, had resigned at the same time.

This brings the number of departures to seven today… or according to Libération accounts, more than two thirds of the workforce. According to various sources, relayed by the daily, the minister would be guilty of "outbursts" and of& nbsp;"inappropriate remarks". A situation which would have worsened after a few hiccups from the spokesperson, notably when she declared, after a council of ministers that a "passage to the act" terrorist had been foiled the previous weekend, before backpedaling immediately afterwards. Libération talks about a "Thevenot team in the middle of a crisis".

Contacted by our colleagues, Prisca Thevenot did not wish to comment on these resignations. One of these collaborators, for his part, denied any behavioral problem. The entourage of Gabriel Attal, minister responsible for Prisca Thévenot, also did not respond to requests from our colleagues.
