Pro D2 semi-final: there will be plenty of buses to bring Béziers supporters to Vannes!

We breathe a little easier in the ranks of ASBH supporters eager to attend their team's semi-final on Friday May 31 in Vannes favorite. If on Monday May 27, they saw themselves remaining in Béziers due to lack of buses to go to Brittany, this Tuesday, the situation became somewhat clearer. In the morning, it was Robert Ménard who announced, enthusiastically, that he had "found a 54-seat coach made available by Vectalia. He will leave Friday at 2 a.m. for Vannes, where he will arrive at 3:30 p.m. He will leave at 1:30 a.m. and return to Béziers around 3:00 p.m..

In the afternoon, after having also moved heaven and earth, it was the regional advisor Thierry Mathieu, a big fan of the ASBH, who rejoiced to have found "three coaches and perhaps soon five, thanks to Hérault Transport which has reviewed its organization."

Maybe also a Spanish bus

The Rugbyterre supporters club also found a double-decker vehicle containing 90 seats. It is the town hall that will subsidize it:"We are also waiting for a response from Vectalia which is a Spanish company, explains Robert Ménard. A bus could come from Spain. We will find out this Thursday, May 29, in the morning."

Finding available coaches is not the hardest part. It’s the drivers who are missing. Knowing that they are in high demand at this time of year and that, to make such a journey of around 900 km, you need two, or even three, and that’ rsquo;they must take breaks. That’s a journey time of around twelve hours… hellip; In short, a real puzzle which seems to be unlocked.

Chartering a train was too expensive

As for the town hall, we even considered chartering a train from the SNCF. Enough to benefit from a faster journey, but not within the reach of all budgets: "It would cost 195 000 euros, explains Robert Ménard. This train would have held 500 seats. He would have left Béziers at 8 a.m. on Friday, with an expected arrival in Vannes at 4:30 p.m. He would have returned on Saturday with a departure at 8 a.m. as well. Which meant sleeping there. Not counting accommodation, the round trip cost 400 euros per passenger. It’was too expensive."

Going by car to Vannes also requires putting your hand in your pocket. With the highway and fuel, it costs around 300 euros for a round trip. Added to this the cost of meals and possibly a night in a hotel, the bill can add up quite quickly…

Whatever it is and whatever the means of transport, at the beginning of the evening, Robert Ménard announced "au total, we sold 700 places. There will therefore be 700 people from Béziers who will come to Vannes!"

A fan zone at Place de la Madeleine

As for those who will stay in Béziers, rest assured, they will be able to watch the match. At home, of course, in the bars which will broadcast it since it is broadcast by Canal +,    but also on Place de la Madeleine, where the City will install a giant screen in a fan zone in ruler. Several hundred people are expected there.
