Porte, Konan and MHB ended up winning against Limoges. Midi Libre – Giacomo Italiano

After an excellent first period, the MHB got a little scared against Limoges, without losing (36-34), Sunday at the end of the 20th day of Starligue. Patrice Canayer and Valentin Porte came to a press conference to react to this 15th victory of the season.

Patrice Canayer, MHB coach:"If we could have signed for a week as we know we have just experienced, I would have signed straight away. We have just had a remarkable week, both in terms of the state of mind, the excess of energy and the production of games, so I am satisfied. Paris was also surprised by Chambéry when they led by six goals, but we expected that.

What is interesting is to draw conclusions: young players, we see that they need this experience. Whether it's Bryan (Monte), Kylian (Prat) or Charles (Bolzinger), who was still a little asleep in his goal… You have to know how to come down to earth after having raised the emotions, it  ;#39;this is the international level. This is what the greats know when they are in the national team, when you have to get back to it, you have to go. You have to learn this. It's good to drink two or three beers after victory but afterward you have to take responsibility.

But overall, I am very satisfied with the performance and, objectively, to prepare for the rest, it's easier for me with this second half than if we had stayed on' #39;image from the first half.

Afterwards, I didn't help the players much. I still did some tactical tests, which we worked on a little but not much. I also wanted to spare certain players, like Jaime who had given a lot recently. We managed this first half, so everyone is a little responsible."

Starligue: the ranking and results of the 20th day

Valentin Porte, captain of the MHB: "I keep the glass half full because I am not basing it on this evening, but on the last ten days that have just passed . We knew that the risk, after a great derby and a great victory in Barcelona, was perhaps the most complicated match to manage. I loved this first half, it was perhaps one of the most beautiful in our context that I have seen at Montpellier Handball. ;

I don't remember having scored a 10-0 in a match, it's quite rare so we shouldn't gloss over any of that. We are still down 4-2, but the start has been impeccable in terms of attitudes, commitment and efficiency. I'm happy with that, because with a third high-level match against a confident team, it's not nothing."

But I told the guys after the match, even before Patrice, that this should be a lesson to us. That when we lower the intensity, the body feels it and we make less effort and it's much messier. Limoges believed in it because we let Limoges believe in it. I will remember the last ten days with the three defeats in a row which came after three defeats and the end of the cycle which ends very well with the two points tonight."
