Renovation of the Saint-Louis church in Sète: the Friends of the Décanale appeal to patrons

L'association des Amis de la Décanale Saint-Louis de Sète, présidée par le père Gérard Frioux, mène des projets de rénovation pour préserver une église au cœur de la vie cultuelle et culturelle de Sète.

For 2024, the priorities are twofold: finding the 60,000 € necessary to change the pews and equip them with reversible backrests (facing towards the altar or towards the organ) and to raise funds to arrange the narthex (front-nave) and in particular the chapel to the left of the large portal to open it to the public "to make it a place of reception, of exhibition on this place of history and memory, but also to be able to glaze access to the nave so that it remains visible during worship,” explains President Gérard Frioux. The boiler must be removed and the work assessed.

Call for donations and the Bern mission

The association is launching an urgent appeal to patrons and all lovers of the Décanale, for donations, either directly to the association via a subscription or via the Heritage Foundation (deductible taxes). "We are seeking to contact the Mission for the Safeguarding of Heritage in Danger led by Stéphane Bern so that he can take up our project", adds Father Frioux. The Friends of the Décanale have already completed the repair of the building's sound system.
