For the return match of the Handball Champions League play-off, at the FDI Stadium, Montpellier defeated RK Zagreb this Wednesday, April 3 (30-24) to qualify for the quarter-final.

END OF MATCH: MONTPELLIER 30 – 24 ZAGREB. With a renewed defense in the second half and a little more precision and patience in attack, MHB found the solutions to outrun Zagreb. Next opponent in the quarter-finals: THW Kiel including Bellahcene.

56e:Srna finds space to come to 6m but Desbonnet intervenes once again. Porte has space which opens up in front of him on a missed interception and finishes the job (29-23 ). He comes out suffering from cramps.

55e : passes towards the missed Croatian pivot, Desbonnet recovers and shoots from his zone, the ball ends up in the goal (28-23).

54e: blocked in the center, Lenne A. tries the shot behind the back and deceives Mandic (27-23).

53e : Gets two minutes for naughty girl foul on Klarica's extended arm. Cavar lobe Bolzinger (26-22). Montpellier botches its attack and Cavar recovers to score in the empty goal (26-23).

52e:Porte finds Lenne A. in pivot who takes his time to deceive Mandic (25-21). Ball recovered by the defense and Karlsson scores in the empty goal (26-21).

51e: Cavar is easily shifted to the left side and deceives Desbonnet at the near post (24-21).

50e : Faljic is found in pivot, his shot is touched by Desbonnet but the post puts the ball in (24-20). Karlsson found on his right wing comes up against Mandic again.

49e : Pellas recovers the ball on the ;Croatian attack but rushes and his pass is recovered by Zagreb. Zagreb has only scored 5 goals since the restart.

48e: Simonet takes the interval and Faljic pushes him into the air. Penalty for Pellas against Grbavac who finishes at the bottom (24-19).

47th: Montpellier messes up and puts the ball in touch. Cavar is found on the left wing and is hit in the air. Penalty for Cavar who comes up against Bolzinger, once again!

46e : Simonet stumbles again on Mandic and the counter -Cavar's attack ends on Desbonnet who makes another save.

45e: Zagreb goes into attack with 7 players to try to find solutions. Defense in the Montpellier zone. Penalty for Cupic who completely misses his shot against Bolzinger.

44e:the Croatian shot is forced and goes over the goal. Skube, jostled before his shot, finds space between the goalkeeper's legs and +4 for Montpellier (23-19). Zagreb is already using its last timeout of the match.

43e : the Montpellier defense defeats Kos.  Porte and Konan regain aggression in defense. Porte recovers the ball and Karlsson finishes the counterattack under Mandic (22-19). Kos fell heavily on his back during the previous action and exits because he is in pain.

42e: Kos gets a 7m for zone defense of Door. Cupic is still there to beat Desbonnet (20-19). Skube goes for a penalty by causing a defense in the zone. Pellas takes the penalty and deceives Mandic (21-19).

41e:Simonet makes a good breakthrough and gets a penalty and two minutes for the Croatian defender. Skube transforms (20-18). This is the first time that Montpellier has led by two goals in this meeting. Time out requested by Zagreb.

40e : crossed between Porte and Skube who runs to the 6m and Mandic horn (19-18). Another loss of the ball on a Croatian pass. Karlsson comes up against Mandic on the counter-attack. Market whistled against Zagreb on the following action.

39e: Srna gets a 7m on Croatian constructions who have a little more difficulty. Cupic deceives Desbonnet again on the penalty (18-18).

33e : Montpellier never gets there not in attack and Simonet shoots in desperation at Mandic. Faljic concludes the counterattack (14-16). Time out already requested by Canayer following a bad agreement with Montpellier.

32e : Klarica goes directly into touch and Montpellier recovers possession.

31e:Simonet shoots in support but it's directly on Mandic.

30e : Montpellier kicks off sending of this last period. Monte's shot is blocked at the end of the possession. Penalty for Zagreb and Cupic still does not shake (14-15).

HALF-TIME: MONTPELLIER 14 – 14 ZAGREB. Montpellier came back just before the break against realistic Croats who took advantage of lost balls and goalkeepers not yet in good spirits (4 saves against 8 for Mandic) on the MHB side to put the Héraultais in difficulty. With more precision and less haste, Montpellier can find a place in the quarter.

29e:Karlsson is well shifted on his right wing and finds the fault on Mandic (14-14). Desbonnet makes another save on a shot from Srna. Monte's free throw at the siren does nothing.

28e : bad pass to the Zagreb pivot which makes the ball to the MHB.

27e: wrong block from Zagreb and Pellas is found on his left wing but Mandic is still on the trajectory. Skube makes a strong move on the next action.

26e : Klarica is well found and deceives Desbonnet into skylight (13-14). Porte takes the outside gap but stumbles upon Mandic.

25e: Desbonnet festival, stop then restart on Pellas who hands it over to Lenne A. to equalize (13-13). Time out requested by Zagreb.

24e:Sirotic deceives Desbonnet again then very good shot from Simonet at the end of the possession to get back into the lead (12-13).

23e : very nice dribble after extension of Porte which arrives at 6m and deceives Mandic (11-12).

22e: Sirotic finds the interval at post 2 and easily deceives Desbonnet (10-12). Canayer takes a time out because Montpellier does not convert his attacks.

21st: the post saves Desbonnet and the counter Lenne's attack ends with a missed dribble.

20e: Klarica scores another goal for Zagreb then Lenne executes a perfect chabala on Mandic (10-11). Desbonnet comes out well on a shot from 6m but the Montpellier attack messes up the ball once again.

19e: Kos finds the outer interval and shoot. This goes over Desbonnet's goal. Simonet takes the shot in support and comes up against Mandic.

17e: passes into Skube's touchline. Kos scores a new goal for Zagreb (8-10). Simonet at the near post brings Montpellier to a goal (9-10).

16th: long shot from Monte that Mandic stops, this is his 5th of the game. The Croatian right winger finishes the action (8-9). Desbonnet returns in place of Bolzinger.

15e:Monte at the end of the suspension scored a goal behind his back and allowed Montpellier to take the advantage for the first time (8-7). Gojun places a roucoulette on Bolzinger who came out to meet him at 6m. (8-8).

14th: first save for Bolzinger on an attempted lob at 6 from Faljic. Fernandez gets the first two minutes of the MHB for a stroller.

13th: while Montpellier recovers the ball, Skube stumbles upon Mandic in counterattack.

12e : Zagreb keeps the clock running by obtaining faults and Faljic concluded at 7m. Porte puts his shot at the near post out of reach of Mandic (7-7).

11e : Gojun hangs Porte on his neck on his 1 against 1 and receives the first 2 minutes of suspension of the match. Skube scores the penalty (6-6).

10e:Klarica gets a 7m following a clash with Konan. Cupic lands a chabala on Bolzinger to take the advantage again (5-6).

9e: missed pass from Zagreb, throw-in for the MHB who returns the ball directly to Kos who closely deceives Bolzinger (4-5). Monte concludes the rapid rise of the ball (5-5).

8e: loss of ball from Montpellier. Srna's counterattack ends above the crossbar. Nacinovic is found at the end of the action by Porte and manages to finish at 6m (4-4).

7e : Montpellier in turn goes 1- 5. Kos takes his chance at 9m but finds the crossbar.

6e: Nacinovic found again at center position Mandic trunk between the legs (3-4).

5e:while MHB had pushed Zagreb to refuse play, Faljic was forgotten and scored on the left wing (2-4). Nacinovic misses the next shot.

4e: Montpellier is in difficulty in front of this defense in 1-5. Monte finds an opening and wins a penalty which Skube converts (2-3).

3e : after the refusal of play, Glavas is found in pivot and Bolzinger horn (1-3).

2e : Srna trumpets in support of Bolzinger and on the& ;rsquo;quick engagement Lenne catches up and scores the first goal for MHB (1-2).

H – 15': discipline will be one of the determining elements of the meeting. In the first leg, the Montpellier team received a total of 16 minutes of penalties compared to only 6 for the Croatians.

H – 30': Montpellier will once again have to count on a pair of effective goalkeepers to put the Croats in check. During the first leg, Charles Bolzinger was one of the men behind Montpellier's good result with 32% saves (11/34).

H – 45': between the two meetings against Zagreb, Montpellier had a Starligue meeting to negotiate against Chartres. The MHB did the job by winning in an offensive game (39-36). For its part, Zagreb was excused from meeting so that it could be fresh for this barrage.

H – 60': last Wednesday, in the Arena Zagreb, the MHB made the necessary efforts to bring back a positive result from its trip (27-27) . We will therefore have to win this evening at the FDI Stadium to see the rest of the competition: the quarter-finals where Kiel awaits the winner of this play-off (equivalent to the round of 16).
