Rhythmic gymnastics: Maëlle Millet and Lily Ramonatxo focused on the Worlds and the Olympics

The two gymnasts from the Montpellier hopeful center will take part in European and world events in July which will be important for selection for the world championships. 

A month after the French championships, where Maëlle Millet won the all-around competition and Lily Ramonatxo took 3rd place, the girls from the Montpellier hopeful center have not been idle.

Head to Bulgaria for a one-week internship. "We went there to check the content and modify it with judges and dance teachers," says Aleksandra Konova, their coach. Modifications which were tested last weekend, during the Spanish championship where Millet and Ramonatxo each represented a club.

"They showed their new version with mistakes which is normal but it was promising because it’s not yet automated. Lily did two apparatuses (ribbon and ball) without falling while Maëlle won the hoop but was in difficulty with the ribbon,” explains the head of the Montpellier hope center. 

In August, we will know about the Olympics

They have fifteen days to refine all that because Lily Ramonatxo will participate in mid-July in a stage of the Challenge Cup in Cluj in Romania. A week later, it will be Maëlle Millet's turn to be on the track for a World Cup round in Milan.

"This is part of the qualifying stages for the Worlds which will take place at the end of August in Valencia, Spain. World Championships where quotas for the Olympic Games will be won. We will have to finish in the first 17 knowing that France will have at least one place as organizing country but in this case, it is the first French woman who will be qualified and this place is nominative, explains Aleksandra Konova .

Also knowing that only those who participate in the Worlds can qualify for the Olympics. There will be another place next year through the European Championships but it concerns all countries. At the end of August, we will know who will participate in the Olympics…hellip;< br />
