Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation, and Amélie Mauresmo, director of the Roland-Garros tournament, announced, this Tuesday, May 14, the invitations (wild cards) awarded for the qualifications (from 20 to 24 ;nbsp;May) and for the final draw of the women's and men's singles (from May 26 to June 9) of the Parisian Grand Slam.
Unsurprisingly, Richard Gasquet will play his 21st Roland-Garros in a few days. The Biterrois, 113th player in the world, received a wild card from the organizers of the event. Just like Pierre-Hugues Herbert (33 years old, 140th in the world) or Harold Mayot (22 years old, N. 130).
69th major for Alizé Cornet
Among the ladies, we will also find Alizé Cornet (34 years old, 99th in the world) but also Kristina Mladenovic (31 years old, 220th in the world) or Fiona Ferro (27 years old, 149th in the world). Alizé Cornet, who has not missed a single Grand Slam tournament since the 2007 Australian Open, will thus play her 69th Major in a row (record).
