Rugby union: Sète escapes at the end of the match and grabs the bonus

Les hommes de Michel Milovic se sont imposés 37-19, ce dimanche 11 février à domicicle face à Aix.

It wasn't always a cakewalk, but the Sétois did the job this Sunday at home, against an Aix team that certainly doesn't deserve its last place.

Dominating in front, Michel Milovic's men planted the first banderilla after six minutes of play, with Sosson taking advantage of a good job of undermining the forwards (5-0). Ten minutes later, on a touch in front of the 22 meters, the Sétois advanced as one man on a penetrating group worthy of the great Béziers, to bring the score to 10-0.

Not so simple

Aix, however, had some response and came back to 10-8 following a try from Boizet. But the superiority of the Sète forwards was such that, as soon as the opportunity presented itself, they regrouped to advance towards the goal. Which gave Droitecour a try in the 23rd (15-8). At the half-hour mark, a great breakthrough from Michel ended with a try from Sanchez (20-11), but as Roux took advantage of the wind at his back, the score at the break was 20 -14.

A cold weather would then fall on the stadium, when Fourty crossed the line (20-19, 57th). But RC Sète held on and happily relied on Zaragoza who scored the right penalty (23-19), before converting two new tries at the end of the match, signed by Haristoy (taking advantage of the pressure put on the ball carrier) and Carambat (at the conclusion of a good collective movement). 37-19 : mission accomplished.
