Searches carried out at Lactalis: why is the milk giant suspected of aggravated tax fraud ?

Le groupe laitier Lactalis confirme avoir été visé par des perquisitions conduites ce mardi 6 février dans le cadre d'une enquête de fraude fiscale liée à ses filiales financières en Belgique et au Luxembourg. 

e dairy group Lactalis announced on Wednesday that it had been targeted on Tuesday by searches carried out by the National Brigade for the Repression of Tax Delinquency (BNRDF) confirming information disclosed by  The World.

According to the daily, the BNRDF searched the headquarters of the world number one in the sector in Laval (Mayenne), the group's offices located in the Montparnasse tower in Paris and the Parisian home of its CEO, Emmanuel Besnier . 

Profit transfer in Belgium and Luxembourg

Lactalis, which notably owns the President, Galbani and Lactel brands, is targeted by the National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF) which is investigating possible aggravated tax fraud and alleged laundering of aggravated tax fraud.&amp ;nbsp;

Franceinfo specifies that the investigation covers the period from 2009 to 2020 on sums estimated at several hundred million euros. #39;euros. An investigation had already been opened by the PNF in 2018 for  "laundering of aggravated tax fraud" relating to suspicions of a reduction in its taxable profit by the Lactalis group and the transfer of part of its profits to its companies in Belgium and Luxembourg.
