A 13-year-old girl was very seriously injured in an accident on Thursday, September 26, 2024. She was riding a scooter and was hit by a heavy goods vehicle.

She was on her way to school on a scooter shortly before 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024. As she was passing the Adrien-Alary stadium in Castelsarrasin, Tarn-et-Garonne, a heavy goods vehicle drove off in front of the girl, reports La Dépêche.

The driver , aged 51, is said to have spent the night in the stadium car park and not to have seen the teenager arrive, according to information from our colleagues.

< p>The shock is violent. The victim was reportedly crushed in the lower limbs by the 38-ton truck.

Transported to hospital

Between life and death, the young girl is taken care of and transported to the Toulouse-Purpan University Hospital. The truck driver, shocked by the accident, was also taken care of and taken to Montauban hospital.

A second young girl , also aged 13, is said to have witnessed this terrible accident first-hand. 

Pedestrian mowed down two weeks earlier

Two weeks earlier, a heavy goods vehicle had mowed down a pedestrian in the city center of Moissac, less than 10 kilometers from Castelsarrasin. With his legs torn off, the victim did not survive his injuries, succumbing before being evacuated by helicopter.
