'She would never have wanted a shark to be blamed': Remains of missing diving tourist found in shark's belly

An American tourist disappeared while she was on a diving trip with friends in Indonesia. Carried away by the currents, it was a fisherman who allegedly found the remains of her body in the stomach of a shark.
An American tourist, who was enjoying a diving trip in Indonesia, where she was spending a vacation with her friends, disappeared, apparently swept away by currents on September 26, revealed Monday, October 7, the New York Post, which indicates that two weeks after her disappearance, remains of her body were found in the belly of a shark, caught by an Indonesian fisherman. Local authorities were able to identify the body using fingerprints, indicate our American colleagues.
While all indications are that the tourist was eaten by the shark, her friends believe that Colleen Monfroe, an experienced diver, suffered a “medical problem”.
“Definitely not a shark”
“We don't think it was a shark attack. Mike thinks she suffered some sort of medical problem in the water”, a longtime friend of the victim said. “She knew what she was doing”.
“I have easily done over 1,000 dives with this lovely lady&hellip “I don't think it was the environment and certainly not a shark that ended her life,” said Kim, a close friend of the deceased tourist who is also an experienced diver.
A nature and animal lover, her friends say she would never have wanted a shark to be blamed for this tragedy. Her friends point out that shark attacks are very rare. The New York Post states that at this point, it is not known what caused Colleen Monfroe to die.
As for the shark, it was caught in poor health and opened to discover the reasons that caused this state, the fisherman indicated. That is how he discovered human remains inside. According to the Indonesian authorities, an investigation is underway.
