Shots fired in Chemin-Bas-d'Avignon during the summer of 2022, arrests and five indictments in Nîmes

Five men suspected of having participated in a shooting, in Chemin-Bas-d'Avignon, on August 18, 2022 were indicted, this January 18 and 19, 2024, in Nîmes.

The PJ police officers, reinforced by the Raid men, arrested six suspects, this Tuesday, January 16, in Nîmes, as part of an investigation into shots, fired at Chemin-Bas-d'Avignon, in August 2022.

During searches this week, drugs and money were seized. The arrests took place in the Gambetta district sector and in the city. Five of the six suspects were indicted this week in connection with this case of drug trafficking and criminal association. 

These arrests are linked to gunshots, linked to a turf war, during the summer of 2022, in the Chemin-Bas-d'Avignon district . There were no injuries. Very quickly, five suspects were arrested by the police, indicted and imprisoned. In December 2023, announced the Departmental Directorate of Public Security, four men, suspected of being the sponsors, were arrested by the police. In total, 14 suspects are therefore implicated in this case
