Destroyed in a fire on the night of June 20 and 21, Le Bastringue was finally able to launch its season this Sunday evening.

The people of Millau remember it. Le Bastringue, a guinguette restaurant on Avenue Millau Plage, was ravaged by flames on the night of June 20 to 21. Barely five days after the opening of the premises by the two new owners, Roxanne and Flavien.

“Our Bastringue went out last night, under the flames. We are deeply saddened to have lost our haven of peace, the place we fell in love with a year ago when we came for the first time […]. This morning the day breaks but tonight, the lights of the Bastringue will not be lit again […]. We consider this fire to be an inhuman and criminal act, there was an intention to destroy the restaurant and to destroy us", wrote, in fact, those who took over from Julie Marzials and Mathieu Lafon.

A procedure still open

As for the investigation, we indicated in our columns on the very morning of the disaster that samples had been taken in order to try to determine the causes of the tragedy. To date, according to our information, the investigation is still ongoing and the procedure has still not been closed.

A month and a half to reopen

After that, it was difficult for the owners to consider the season given the extent of the damage. However, on its social networks, Le Bastringue announced its reopening this Saturday, August 10. And that, the very next day. “We are so happy to welcome you again! See you tomorrow”, can be read on the restaurant's Facebook page.
