Something new on the Comédie in Montpellier: the terrace of the Café Riche moves to the foot of the Trois-Grâces, the MacDo returns to its original place

After the McDonald's terrace moved to the center of the Place de la Comédie, it's the turn of the Riche café to move a few meters. The modernization work is concentrated in front of the historic business until the end of June. 

The ball of the terraces continues on the Place de la Comédie in Montpellier. After the Café du Théâtre, the Yam's and the MacDo, it's the turn of the Café Riche terrace to move, taking the place occupied by the fast food restaurant American near the Trois-Grâces fountain. The McDonald's has returned to its original location, at the corner of rue de la Loge.

The terrace of the historic café, opened in 1893 on the Place de la Comédie, has an identical surface area. The downside: the waiters have to get around the rubble to serve their customers. Regulars will be able to enjoy their espresso at the foot of the Trois-Grâces fountain. A commotion that should last until the end of June.

A final clap for the work

Café Riche will be the last business to have to move its terrace. After long months of jackhammering, work to modernize Place de la Comédie will end this summer. Thanks to the new slabs, Montpellier residents will be able to walk on the Egg without fear of slipping…
