Expositions, visites, rencontres… Une sélection de rendez-vous terriens à ne pas rater pendant la fête des traditions maritimes.

1- "Seafarers, gestures of men"

The photographer Magali Mondange, co-founder of the Arbre de Mestre association dedicated to maritime heritage, offers the exhibition at the Macaronade room, quai du Général-Durand, "Seafarers, gestures of men : if the port was told to me". Exhibition to be seen from Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, every day from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Opening Saturday March 30 at 5 p.m.

2- Visit to the commercial port

Free. The commercial port of Sète exceptionally opens its doors to visitors. Free port tours are available for the duration of the event, from Wednesday 27 to Sunday 31 March, from 10 a.m. to noon, then from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. nbsp;hours for the last relay. Departures take place every hour. The meeting point to take the bus is located at Place Mangeot, in front of Orsetti station. The opening hours for visits to the Richelieu docks will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

3- Official painters of the Navy

Exhibitions of the Official Painters of the Navy (POM), who constitute one of the oldest artistic bodies, whose origins date back to the 17th century. The artists are painters as well as sculptors, illustrators, photographers and engravers. They have very diverse personalities and temperaments linked by a common passion for the sea. They devote their talent to the study of the sea, the Navy and people of the sea. An exhibition to be found every day at the Musée de la Mer, 1, rue Jean-Vilar, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

4- Portraits of seafarers

At the Maroc station, in the port of Sète. Exhibition of the sponsor of Escale in Sète "Portraits of seafarers", by Ifremer, the French research institute entirely dedicated to knowledge of the ocean. It offers a series of portraits of the sailors of Génavir and the scientists embarked on the FOF ships and captures, in a few sentences, the essence and meaning of their profession. Every day, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

5- Exhibitions of marine illustrations

At the Chapel of the Penitents. As part of the "On the boarding !" dedicated to maritime illustration: watercolors, drawings, illustrations, paintings with the sea as the central theme. With Yves Renda, maritime illustrator, and designer Cyril Jmili, in collaboration with visual arts students from Paul-Valéry University of Montpellier III. Every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
