The weather forecast is mixed this Sunday March 31 on Stopover in Sète. For visitors who wish to continue their discovery of maritime heritage this weekend, rather under shelter, here are some ideas for young and old.

1- Easter stopover at the Décanale

Sunday is traditionally dedicated to seafarers' mass. Due to rough weather, the Easter stopover will not take place at the Théâtre de la Mer but at the Décanale. The public is invited, subject to availability, to come to the church from 10 a.m. The ceremony was chaired in particular by the Archbishop of Montpellier, Monseigneur Turini.

The musical direction will be co-hosted by Jean-Michel Balester and Valérie Blanvillain.

2- "Seafarers, gestures of men"

The photographer Magali Mondange, co-founder of the Arbre de Mestre association dedicated to maritime heritage, offers the exhibition &quot at the Macaronade room, quai du Général-Durand. ;Seafarers, gestures of men: if the port was told, open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The result of around ten years of documentation dedicated to workers at the port of Sète.

3- Visit to the commercial port

Free. The commercial port of Sète exceptionally opens its doors to visitors with the possibility of discovering the infrastructure, the diversity of traffic, the professions and the decarbonization projects of the structure.

Free harbor tours are available for the duration of the event, from 10 a.m. to noon, then from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for the last relay. Departures take place every hour by bus. The meeting point to take the bus is located at Place Mangeot, in front of Orsetti station.

The Richelieu docks, port work zone of the Region, port manager, are also exceptionally open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be possible to visit the dredging vessel, the Hydromer.

4- The Sea Museum

The Official Painters of the Navy (POM), one of the oldest artistic bodies, whose origins date back to the 17th century, are offering an exhibition there. The artists are painters as well as sculptors, illustrators, photographers and engravers. They have very diverse personalities and temperaments linked by a common passion for the sea. They devote their talent to the study of the sea, the Navy and people of the sea. The public can also discover the collections there. permanent works on the history of the origins of the city or the collection of models of the former Sète marine carpenter Aversa.

Every day at the Musée de la Mer, 1, rue Jean-Vilar, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

5 – Exhibitions of marine illustrations

At the Chapel of the Penitents. As part of the "On the boarding !" dedicated to maritime illustration: watercolors, drawings, illustrations, paintings with the sea as the central theme. With Yves Renda, maritime illustrator, and designer Cyril Jmili, in collaboration with visual arts students from Paul-Valéry University of Montpellier III. Every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

6 – Become a sailor on the Götheborg… in 3 D

The original ship, built in 1738 at Stockholm's Terra Nova Docks for the Swedish East India Company, sank in 1745 near the port of Gothenburg. But the largest sailboat in the world, the Götheborg III was rebuilt in the 1980s. For those who did not have the chance to see the ship during its last stopover in Sète, it is possible to visit it using an augmented reality headset in the village dedicated to the North Sea-Channel-Atlantic, Quai de la République. Nice sensation of dizziness and pitching at the key.
