Suspicious death: the body of a nonagenarian found in the corridor of a nursing home in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, an investigation opened

The body of a nonagenarian woman was discovered in the corridor of a nursing home in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon on the night of Saturday to Sunday, May 12.

An investigation was entrusted to the Avignon police following the suspicious death of a nonagenarian woman, in a nursing home in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon (Gard). The body of this 95-year-old woman was discovered in the corridor of the establishment during the night of Saturday to Sunday, May 12, around midnight.

A resident was apparently in this corridor and it was another resident who alerted the staff after discovering the victim and his box which was on the floor.

An autopsy will be carried out

" The circumstances of the death have not been established, declares the deputy prosecutor of the Nîmes public prosecutor's office, Véronique Compan. "There are auditions in progress. And an autopsy is planned."

The investigation is entrusted to the Avignon police officers. Investigators are trying to find out what role the resident who was with the victim played in this corridor of the nursing home before the discovery of her body.
