Table tennis at the Paris 2024 Olympics: at what time and on which channel to follow the semi-final of France of the Lebrun against China ?

The French men's table tennis team, which includes Montpellier residents Félix and Alexis Lebrun, faces China in the semi-final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this Thursday, August 8.

The French table tennis players, easy winners over the Brazilians (3-0), qualified on Wednesday for the semi-finals of the Olympic team tournament, where the big Chinese favorites await them.

After the bronze won in singles by Félix Lebrun, who at 17 became the youngest individual Olympic medallist in history, here he is, with his brother Alexis and Simon Gauzy, one victory away from offering France a second medal in these Games.

“We really enjoy playing together… It's going to be a great match", reacted Alexis Lebrun, when his little brother Félix promised that the Blues would give "their best" on Thursday against the Chinese favourite. “We're going to rest well, prepare well”, added Gauzy.

Clear and flawless success

After a relatively relaxed start to the tournament, by beating the Slovenians (3-0), the adversity promised to grow on Wednesday against the Brazilians, led by Hugo Calderano, the brand new world number 3, driven by a feeling of revenge three days after his heavy defeat against “Féfé” in the small final of the singles. It was not to be, as the French were so dominant.

With this clear and flawless victory, the Blues have therefore opened the doors to the last four as they had hoped.

A Chinese wall now has to be crossed, with the brand new Olympic champion Fan Zhendong, his predecessor in Tokyo Rio Ma Long and the world champion Wang Chuqin.
