Telethon: Clermont kept its promises and “achieved feats”

Plus de 53 600 € ont été récoltés à Clermont, ville ambassadrice de la 37e édition. Vendredi, la présidente de l'AFM Téléthon, Laurence Thiennot-Herment est venue remercier les bénévoles, partenaires, la ville et tout un territoire, pour leur contribution.

Less than 3 months after the last live Telethon broadcasts from Clermont, Ambassador City 2023, Friday evening, the time had come to reveal the amount of donations collected in the Heart of Hérault. And with the tidy sum of 53,664 € gathered in the capital Clermontaise, in addition to a tight organization, the solidarity challenge will have been met, hands down during the meeting against rare genetic diseases.

Research is progressing

What Laurence Tiennot-Herment, president of the AFM-Téléthon, came to greet, in situ, paying tribute to the commitment of volunteers, partners and, beyond, of an entire city, or even an area, who have demonstrated their generosity. "Every day, our association is at the origin of very innovative treatments which are born in our laboratories. The Telethon is a feat, and in Clermont-l’Hérault, you achieved some. It is precisely, thanks to your prowess that our scientists are, in turn, achieving prowess", thanked the president.

The local contribution to a great national cause

"I absolutely thank all the participants who showed solidarity, love, humility and real ambition to make, each one, their contribution to this great national cause", signed, in turn, Gérard Bessière, mayor of Clermont. Sophie Foucher in charge of the local organization of December 8 and 9, in turn humbly saluted the mayor and Georges Elnecave (coordinator) for their "support and their confidence in allowing us to work within our city."
