The hell of a victim of identity theft

#MONTPELLIER. Since January 2021, Charly Acosta has been the victim of identity theft. Three years that he has been awarded the SNCF fines of a person who regularly uses his name, first name and date of birth when fined on the train. The student had to contest around thirty fines and multiply appeals to the police, the courts, and the Public Treasury which has already seized sums from his account.

If Charly Acosta systematically formulates appeals, the processing times are long and the sums he expects to be returned accumulate. "Currently, I am at 1,200 € taken from my account, without having yet obtained a refund." Heavy prejudice for this scholarship student. The young Montpellier resident feels trapped: "Administratively, I have tried everything. I had my identity card renewed last October. Not to mention the psychological impact…hellip;

#NIMES. The new edition of the very popular Foire de Nîmes will be held from February 23 to 26 at the Parc des Expositions. "We have a record number of exhibitors with more than 250 expected, the marquee will be enlarged and we will also have a few surprises", welcomes Pascal Settipani, the organizer. Last year, 28,000 visitors were recorded. If the Habitat center remains an important axis of the fair, gastronomy retains a special place.

16-year-old teenager killed: family and friends in shock

#MONTPELLIER. Tuesday February 6, Badr Allaoui, aged 16, was stabbed to death in front of the Jules-Guesde high school. Since then, his family and friends have been devastated. Shows of support are pouring in from all sides. On the evening of the tragedy, he intervened in a dispute between two young girls, before being pursued by a 15-year-old teenager, helmeted and armed with a knife, who fatally stabbed him. "The story, we don't know it, recognizes Marwa, her cousin. We let the courts handle this. We are not out for revenge. We will not take justice into our own hands. On the other hand, we want this young person to pay for the crime he committed.

Clara, 19 years old, new Miss

#ALES. Diane Leyre, Miss France 2022 and Ève Gilles, Miss France 2024, participated in the big evening of& rsquo;election of Miss Alès, Saturday. Business attire, swimsuits, wedding dresses, gala dresses… the ten young girls received honors each time. The tables continued until the middle of the night when the two runners-up were elected: Angelyne Bres for second, Sarah Zoubai for first.

Then, Ève Gilles announced the name of Clara Crouzette as the new Miss Alès. The 19-year-old young woman, from Saint-Privat-des-Vieux, received her first tiara amid a shower of rhinestones and applause. She will represent Alès on July 29 for the first election evening of Miss Languedoc.

A successful 86th carnival

#NARBONNE. After being deserted all weekend due to capricious weather conditions, the city center of Narbonne was vibrant throughout this Sunday afternoon, welcoming several thousand people who came to contemplate the ;endless procession strolling down rue Raspail  at the town hall square, via Cours Mirabeau and Cours République, reports L’Indépendant. Bandas, dancers, floats, queen, princesses, superheroes, clowns, confetti… the 86th edition of the city's Carnival respected all the codes of this popular and family tradition.
