In the ranking of training centers, Béziers is ranked first in Pro D2. Thanks, in particular, to all the work done over the years by its leaders.

Raffaele Storti only knows how to run fast, take hooks and score tries. The ASBH winger also shines when it comes to getting his neurons working. The young player, a member of the Béziers training center, can, in fact, boast of having completed a master's degree in finance at Edhec, one of the most prestigious business schools in the # 39;Hexagon.

The Portuguese international, in Biterre for two years, is the perfect example of the efficiency of the Biterre center, where the work carried out for several years is bearing fruit and has just put him in the spotlight. Over the entire 2022-2023 season, it was ranked first of all Pro D2 training centers. A position established according to several criteria.

"The evaluation carried out by the LNR is carried out according to three pointss, explains Stéphanie Valaize, educational and administrative of the ASBH training center since 2018.Firstly, it is the players' playing time with the professional team, smoothed over three years, which is taken into account. The number of national selections is also looked at. Since my arrival, I have only seen Maxime Espeut and Paul Recor go on training in Marcoussis with the under-20s. The second point is only the academic aspect with the educational objectives from season to season and the level of study of the center's residents. Finally, the LNR also takes into account the number of signings of professional contracts and the educational level. For example, a young person who completes a baccalaureate plus two and signs a professional contract earns points for the evaluation."

The importance of academic success

In terms of academic success, the Béziers players who have joined the pro group can puff out their chests. Beyond Raffaele Storti, this is the case, among others, of Maxime Espeut who validated a bachelor's degree in sports management, of Paul Recor (BTS real estate profession), of Gabin Lorre (BTS digital customer relations and & nbsp;currently in foreign language training),  of Paul Reau (info-com license and English language diploma) or of  William Van Bost  (master from the Grenoble business school):  "We have realized that more and more players are achieving the double objective, < /em> reports to Stéphanie Valaize. When for a young person, it works well with the pros, it also works in terms of his studies."

26 residents at the center

Currently, the ASBH training center has 26 residents, one of them being on loan to Chambéry. To join the training center, you must be under 24 years old and meet the criteria of an agreement managed by the LNR and the FFR: "It is imperative  to continue their studies, knowing that the League regularly checks that the young person is doing so diligently. Once at the center, they benefit from: arranged schedules. For our part, we have chosen individualization. Before their integration, we have numerous interviews with them to see what they want to do. They keep the choice of their studies, it's very important."

Everyone play the game

For two years, those in charge of the center have also worked with players at the end of their careers in order to   to help them in their professional reconversion. Knowing that the training center is in constant contact with the staff of the first team and the various organizations. Everyone plays the game: "Last year, Gabin Lorre, who was studying at Supexup, could not attend all the classes, explains Stéphanie Valaize. So, on Wednesday, a teacher from the school came voluntarily to help him catch up on them. He, moreover, finished top of his class!"

Pierre Caillet, the coach of  the professional team is in constant contact with the managers of the training center, in particular Stéphanie Valaize. He also always took care not to harm his players' studies: "When Maxime Espeut had to take his exams, he was released from the team. "

On the financial side, this first place in the ranking allows the training center to rely on 250,000 € of funds paid by the League. A significant sum.

The training center works with various study organizations: Supexup, the Institute of Sports Professions in Béziers, the Ruffel school, the Hobson language center, Paul University -Valery.
