The Aveyron CCI delivers its ambitions for 2026 in a world where "the local can have an impact on the global"

During his back-to-school public meeting, President Dominique Costes set the CCI's course for 2026 and invited the Director General of the Jacques-Delors Institute to shed light on the challenge of the economic dynamics of the territories.

More than ever, the CCI wants to position itself as a key player in the territory's economy. This is further evidenced by its back-to-school public meeting, where for the occasion, President Dominique Costes invited Sylvie Matelly, the CEO of the Jacques-Delors Foundation. The latter, in a very informative speech, who came in particular to discuss the weight borne by our territories in the economic battle between China and the United States, in a way reinforced the idea that there was a need for a player like the CCI to face the future.

Because in a Europe subject to the tensions that we know about, and with the approach of a strategic decision (2027) by the European Union on the allocation of budgets, “the territories will have to defend their particularity and their vulnerability so that a policy adapted to their needs is applied”.

Transitions, recruitment, transmission

A statement that is certainly addressed to elected officials but which underlines the need to work in a united manner. A role that the CCI knows how to play, which, on Monday, September 30, defined the course it is setting for 2026 and the challenges that go with it. A course guided by three elements, as defined by Dominique Costes.“Transitions, all transitions, whether ecological, linked to very small businesses, to CSR, with concrete support”; “recruitment, with the need to bring in people from outside, to recruit talent and to train” he whispered, taking up the slogan “train here to work here”; “Transmission, a major challenge with an entire age group preparing to retire”.

Three subjects on which various economic actors from the CCI of a department that has 93% of VSEs employing fewer than 10 employees, and which recorded 2,600 business creations last year, all sectors combined, have testified. “A new record” launched Dominique Costes, recalling the “good sustainability rate when a start-up company is supported by the CCI”.

Necessary social dimension

An entrepreneurial fabric to defend, develop and adapt, therefore, in an international context that is certainly not to be ignored! “The global weighs on the local and the local weighs on the global” was pleased to support Sylvie Matelly who, throughout her speech, emphasized the necessary social dimension. “When you have a population that is suffering, it cannot help but explode…" And the need for a Europe to support this, with four vulnerabilities to overcome: energy dependence, logistics flows, access to raw materials, human resources. Four vulnerabilities that are being questioned both in the corridors of the European Union and in the amphitheater of the Aveyron Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
