Lundi 14 octobre, une centaine de personnes ont assisté à l’inauguration de la fin des travaux de rénovation de l’église de l’Immaculée-Conception, située sur le boulevard de Genève, à Béziers.

In the presence of members of the parish council for economic affairs and Mayor Robert Ménard, Father Hervé Dussel, Archpriest of Béziers, began the ceremony with a blessing of the work and a time of prayer.

The public present was able to admire the rehabilitation work that focused on both the interior and exterior elements of this remarkable Béziers monument.

A major renovation of the crypt was carried out: the heating system was replaced, the electricity was brought up to standard, the floors and painting were completely redone.

On the exterior side, the façade of the presbytery was completely redone, the wall and the gate overlooking the Boulevard de Genève were repaired and the courtyard was landscaped. completed.

"This work was carried out by local companies and financed by the parish and donations from the faithful to the tune of €140,000. They now provide architectural continuity with the recent renovation of the adjoining Notre-Dame school,” specifies Father Dussel.

A renovation that was unanimously approved by the faithful who were able to share a friendly drink under a light autumn rain.

In view of the success of this project, several projects are being considered to improve other Béziers bell towers.
