The Cigale roundabout in Nîmes newly named “Jacky Sagnard”

Wednesday April 17, Mayor Jean-Paul Fournier and elected officials from the City of Nîmes met at the roundabout located at the bottom of Chemin de la Cigale to pay a vibrant tribute to Jacky Sagnard . This entrepreneur with a strong character, born in Nîmes in 1933 and died in 2021 at the age of 87, left his mark on life in Nîmes.

In turn entrepreneur, director of the Imperator, associate of Simon Casas at the arenas, member of the management committee of Nîmes Olympique, founder of the Nîmes University Hospital ambassadors club, he was decorated of the Legion of Honor and the National Order of Merit.

A formidable businessman, he was also, and above all, a kind-hearted, affable man, deeply attached to his city… and a long-time friend. His self-sacrifice and hard work in everything he undertook and succeeded in commands admiration. By naming this site in his honor, we are committed to perpetuating his memory and passing on his example of courage and merit throughout the generations", declared, moved, Jean-Paul Fournier , Mayor of Nîmes.
