The fire which occurred in an area of precarious housing in Montpellier, this Monday evening, is of criminal origin

Two mobile homes installed in a makeshift camp, located on avenue de Maurin in Montpellier, between the railway line and the DEMETER-Veolia waste sorting center, were completely destroyed by flames this Monday, June 10 in the early evening.
The fire, which broke out around 8:30 p.m., and whose black smoke was visible for several kilometers around, spread to six wrecked vehicles which did not ;rsquo;were able to be identified after the fire was contained.

At the time of the rescue operations, carried out by the Hérault firefighters, no resident of the camp was present on site. No injuries have been reported.
Altercations between neighbors
However, a little later in the evening, a 20-year-old man presented himself at the central police station, indicating that he was one of the camp's residents and denounced one of his unfortunate neighbors as being behind this arson.
According to his testimony, it all started with an altercation between the two men. An investigation is underway to try to apprehend the suspect.
