The fourteen Lozériens winners of the 2024 General Agricultural Competition received their diplomas

À l’occasion des 100 ans des chambres d’agriculture, 14 diplômes ont été distribués aux Lozériens ayant obtenu une médaille lors du Salon international de l’agriculture en février 2024.

The International Agricultural Show took place from Saturday February 24 to Sunday March 3, 2024, in Paris. Among the lucky winners, fourteen are from Lozériens. It was on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Chambers of Agriculture that their diplomas were presented, Thursday April 25, 2024, at the Georges-Frêche events space, in Mende.

Best Pointer of Breed Trophy

The trophy for the best pointer of the Aubrac breed, during the Animal Judging competition by young people, was awarded to Elsa Masson, in BTS Conducted and strategic analysis of the agricultural company Legta de Saint -Chély-d’Apcher, who obtained 1st place. "There there eight during the competition. They were people who knew the area as much as I did, and who had as much merit. I didn't think it would come to this. I was obviously very happy, because it was the fruit of a lot of work and a passion too", she says. Marie-Lou Pignol, from the private agricultural high school Terre Nouvelle, in Marvejols, came in third position.

The Lozerian winner of the Animal Judging competition by young people during the trophy for the best Simmental breed pointer is Lilou Ferrandis-Bortolussi. She came second in the ranking. Finishing 4th in the ranking, Laura Pic was rewarded with the trophy for best scorer of the Limousine breed.

The winner of the International Trophy for Agricultural Education (TIEA) was awarded to the Legtpa of Saint-Chély-d’Apcher, which placed in second place.< /p>

Three award-winning Lozerian products

During the General Agricultural Competition, three Lozériens stood out in their respective categories. Nadia Vidal won the gold medal for her chestnut jam in the jams, jellies and fruit creams category. SARL Lou Passou bio received the silver medal in the pressed sheep cheese category. The Gaec de Recoule obtained the same medal in the cheese category, bleu des Causses AOP.

Animals highlighted

Icecream, a Bourbonnais donkey, belonging to Paul Bardou, came 4th in the ranking in the national donkey trophy. In the draft horse category, Listel de Kermane, from Gaec du Carroc, obtained 4th place. The animal was represented by Jérôme Bout.

The two Lozère cows which stood out were evaluated by Elsa Masson, during her Animal Judging competition by young people. "We had two animals to judge. We had to give them a score between 1 and 8, on the qualities of the animal (muscular, skeletal, functional abilities…). I came across the two cows who received a diploma today, and a winner at the agricultural show: Océannie de Gaec de la Buge, a young Aubrac cow; Lebroune, aged Aubrac bovine cow, from Gaec Solignac de Boujoux. Both placed second in their category. Isabelle and Philippe Trigosse represented Océannie; Patrick Solignac was in charge of Lebroune.

The last prize of the ceremony was awarded to Rockstar, from  Gaec des Mille Vues, ​​in the Brown cattle category, cow in 1st lactation. The diploma was given to the breeder Karine Julhan.
