“The height of barbarism”: the anti-bullfights of Colbac maintain the pressure in front of the Béziers arenas

This Saturday, March 2, around twenty people from Colbac (Biterrois liaison committee for the abolition of bullfighting) demonstrated in front of the Béziers arenas which were hosting training by the bullfighter Christian Parejo.

The Colbac (Biterrois Liaison Committee for the Abolition of Bullfighting) demonstrated in front of the Béziers arenas this Saturday, March 2, while the public could attend training by the bullfighter Christian Parejo. The twenty or so people gathered brandished signs "Here we torture".

"Private killings subject to no control"

"Usually, bullfighters train to kill from breeders from whom they buy animals at low prices. Colbac strongly denounces these private killings which are not subject to any rules or control", writes its president Sophie Maffre-Baugé. "Training to kill an animal with a sword and dagger constitutes the height of barbarism", adds- she said. Colbac regularly organizes this type of gathering with a clear message but in a climate that remains calm.
