The ITFC company at the forefront of technological innovation

This Tuesday, January 9, at the agri-food center of Saint-Julien-des-Points, Serge Tastavin, director and founder of the company ITFC (Innovations technologies training councils) invited local elected officials and economic players from Cévennes, as well as representatives of the Syndicat des Hautes Vallées Cévennes. The company, created in 2018 near Alès, specializes in the research and development of industrial drying processes for the food industry, agriculture and wood.

Dehydrated chips

Serge Tastavin, thanks to his experience as an engineer and more than forty years in French and international industry, masters the design of industrial processes, using numerous thermal (microwave) but also mechanical solutions.

The ITFC company has three different sites: Saint-Christol-les-Alès, dedicated to research; Vézénobres, specialized in the manufacturing of prototype equipment; Saint-Julien-des-Points, which is the center for practical experimentation of equipment designed near Alès.

Tuesday afternoon, Serge Tastavin and Michel Tarrié, his partner, two dynamic septuagenarians, full of projects, presented to visitors their process of manufacturing dehydrated fruit and vegetable chips. Foods treated in this way retain all their taste and nutritional qualities and contain no additives or preservatives, no added salt or fatty substances. The end products retain their vitamins thanks to this unique process which is protected by international patents.

ITFC's know-how is not limited only to food . An industrial structure for the heat treatment of pallets using microwaves should emerge in 2024 on another nearby site, with the creation of several dozen jobs.

Lozère and more particularly the Cévennes demonstrate once again their attractiveness.
