The LDH of Nîmes has a dream: "March 8, 2024, last day of struggle for women's rights ?"

Pour la Ligue des Droits de l'Homme, il reste encore du travail à faire pour une égalité homme-femme. Midi Libre – MiKAEL ANISSET

Nouvel appel à manifester face aux inégalités ce vendredi 8 mars à Nîmes.

“Today, March 8, 2024, is the last time we talk about the day of struggle for women's rights. Everything is set.  Women will no longer be victims of men's society. From tomorrow, equality between men and women will be  everywhere: equal pay for equal work, freedom to choose ;rsquo;to be a mother or not, no more women beaten or killed, no more sexual violence, no more women victims of armed conflicts, no more, no more, no more…!"

A still long road to equality

These are the hopeful words from the Nîmes section of the Human Rights League (LDH) on the eve of the very symbolic day of March 8.& nbsp;Words that call for immediate disillusionment: "Alas, all this is just a dream. The Nîmes section of human rights is committed to ensuring that women's rights are finally respected everywhere and for all. The road will be long…"

This March 8 will therefore be, like every year and undoubtedly like in 2024, synonymous with demands and action movements for more equality. The LDH is thus calling for participation in the various movements on Friday in Nîmes: a demonstration will be held from 2:30 p.m. at the Maison Carrée, before a stroll scheduled for 6 p.m.< /p>
