The municipality attentive to the requests of the ça gaze collective

Les membres actifs du collectif : Claude Ayme, Marc Ciler, Jean-Claude Drimaraci, René Bladier, Paul Lahrer et Jean Guiu.

Recently, the main members of the Ça gaze collective gathered in the room of the small Chalet rue de La Gazelle to discuss their meeting on March 5 with the mayor of Nîmes, Jean-Paul Fournier, and some of his deputies, including the first, Julien Plantier, delegate for Urban Planning, Claude de Girardi, delegate for Mobility, traffic and parking, Emmanuel Carrière, delegate for Urban Development and Roads, and finally Olivier Bonné, delegate for Monitoring the urban renovation.

The concerns of the collective have not changed since its formation a year ago, and its members wanted to obtain precise answers on the various recurring points discussed, namely the regulation of speed on the road to Uzès at the entrance of Nîmes, the regulation of parking near schools, and in particular the La Gazelle primary training school where 300 students are educated, the relocation of its main entrance, and the securing of certain intersections. Claude Ayme, at the initiative of the collective, specifies: " We asked for the possibility of moving back the Nîmes entrance sign, in order to reduce the speed a little earlier, as it was originally, near Chemin de la Calmette, but the response from the mayor's advisor is that the positions of these signs are regulated."

However, Jean-Claude Drimaraci, an active member of the collective, recalls that Claude de Girardi proposed a speed limit of 50 km/h upstream of the town entrance sign which received the approval of the mayor. Finally, the question arose of the arrangements to be made to secure entry and exit from the school, because as all the members rightly say: " It is urgent because the safety of our children is at stake. Ideally, the main entrance should be moved and maintained where it was before, rue des Resedas." Despite everything, at the end of this meeting, everyone agreed that the mayor and his deputies were attentive, and that there was a real desire to respond favorably.
