The new “Health employment pathway” is being deployed in Gard, for comprehensive support

Installée à Nîmes, l'association Accompagnement Diversité Réhabilitation Handicap déploie le dispositif "Parcours emploi santé" dans le Gard. 

"Retrouver le chemin de l’emploi et arriver à s’épanouir." This is the aim of the new "Health Employment Pathway", according to Henry Brin, president of the Accompagnement Diversité Réhabilitation Handicap (ARDH) association, which pilots the service  in Gard, with the Union for the Management of Health Insurance Funds (Ugecam) at the request of France Travail (which succeeds Pôle emploi).

"Finding the path to employment"

This new system, created at the beginning of 2022, made it possible to support a little more than 1,300 people in Gard, allowing & ;quot;70% of finding a job again", according to Valérie Issert, Gard Lozère territorial director of France Travail. Offered primarily to long-term unemployed people, without being reserved for them, this system allows beneficiaries to commit to six months of support. Already, 90% of people who participated say they are satisfied. 

"The goal is to promote their self-determination, that they are actors in their lives and that they can make informed choices in depending on their capacity, their will, their situation", explains Alain Balade, of Ugecam. People who embark on this path, after a dialogue with their France Travail advisor, revealing health issues in the professional integration process. They then meet a multidisciplinary team which carries out a 360° diagnosis. ~/p>

"Global support"

The assessment allows you to take stock of your health, but also to consider social, professional, psychological questions,  "allowing you to define a plan of action. ;#39;individual action", continues Alain Balde.  

This may lead to recognition of a disability, but not necessarily. The aim is above all to enable beneficiaries to become aware of the situation "thanks to comprehensive support." This perception of the reality of the problems is often a very important first step. "The device allows real awareness, insists Valérie Issert. They discover that there is treatment to overcome the difficulties. All say that in the end, they engage in a new dynamic of returning to employment."

Centered on the person and their needs, the support first allows "to understand the problem, then to& #39;provide answers to compensate", explains Michel Maury, director of the ARDH. We can then "guide people through a skills assessment taking into account the issues and tools", then study the way to lead the project "to overcome the difficulties."
