On Friday, September 27, 2024, the Nocturne foot race, organized by the Lion's Club, returns for an 11th edition full of highlights. Starting with a start of the race that will take participants to the heart of the arenas.

Friday, September 27, from 8:30 p.m., the 3,500 participants expected for the Nocturne will set off on a 5 km course in the heart of Nîmes. As its name suggests, the principle of the Nocturne is… to run at nightfall in the streets of the city center.

An event imagined by the Lions Club Nîmes Alphonse-Daudet which brought together nearly 2,200 people last year. A race for a good cause since all funds are dedicated to the fight against visual impairment and to support disabled children. Runners and also walkers who are welcome, in particular to accompany people with disabilities.

This 2024 edition marks a real change for La Nocturne. No more departure and arrival at the Jardins de la Fontaine as was the case since the beginning of the adventure. From now on, everything will take place on the forecourt of the Nîmes arenas. With a route that will take participants from the Esplanade to the arenas, then to the Jardin de la Fontaine, before going back down the Jean-Jaurès and taking the rue Saint-Rémi, to Feuchères, and completing the loop at the Esplanade.

3,500 participants expected

Registrations continue with unchanged prices which entitle each participant to a souvenir T-shirt. With family, friends, seasoned runners or not, minors, able-bodied and disabled, this charity race allows you to discover Nîmes and its heritage from another angle and in another light.

Because behind this foot race, the objective of the Lions Club Alphonse-Daudet is twofold: to fight against visual impairment and to support disabled children. The profits from the operation have allowed over several years the implementation of a visual screening operation in the large nursery sections of the city first, then on a departmental scale.

More than 10,000 children have been affected by these visual prevention tests. Many of whom were able to benefit from an early diagnosis and therefore from appropriate care.

For those who have not yet registered, it is not too late to join us, until September 26 at midnight on kms.fr.
