The Olympic flame passes to Marseille, Arles, Montpellier… but not to Nîmes: “It’s still regrettable”

For the president of Nîmes tourism, Xavier Douais, the Department of Gard did not make the right choice.

The Olympic flame in Arles, Marseille, Montpellier… But not in Nîmes and nowhere in Gard. « It’s a shame, regrets Xavier Douais, president of Nîmes tourism. It’s a promising event. The Department did not want to spend 180,000 euros… But knowing that 0.10% of the tourist tax is due to it, thanks to all the efforts made by the tourist office, it could have done another choice. It’s still regrettable. »

For the record, it was the Department which made the choice, in 2022, not to spend the amount requested by the organizing committee, considered exorbitant.< /p>
