The poster takes up the famous work "American Gothic", by the painter Grant Wood, showing a peasant and his daughter, particularly austere. It is topped with this inscription: "When you have never visited Béziers." And since this Thursday, June 6 and for a week, it appears in the main places in Paris, such as the Champs-Élysées. A communication campaign carried out internally by the services of the City of Béziers and the Tourist Office.

"We're looking to stand out"

"We had an opportunity, we jumped at the chance. There are almost 200 posters. It's a wink, this painting is very well known, it's schoolboy, we're trying to stand out", explains Mayor Robert Ménard. "When you say "We are the strongest, no one believes you." The City therefore chose this strategy against -foot. The cost of the campaign is 15,000 euros. Knowing that another will take place at the beginning of July. "It's about getting people talking about Béziers at a time when lots of people are going to arrive in Paris." During the Olympics, on the other hand, impossible due to the budget.
